Community of Writers

After listening everyone's ideas, I realized that I haven't been creative at all in terms of my "community of writers." I've been extremely traditional in my approach - most of the writing has been from student to teacher (with the occasional peer editor).

  1. Hi Diane,
Sounds like my teaching, too, for many years. No time like the present to explore other options!

  2. I understand your point of view. I think giving control over to students can be scary-- but the rewards are invaluable. Hopefully you'll be able to take some of these ideas back to the classroom and get some good use out of them. :)

  3. I too have learned a lot from this class about my approach to teaching. I am excited to begin the next year with more student centered teaching and less teacher centered teaching.

  4. I've budgeted the month of July to gettin myself up and running with all of these "new" (at least for me) approaches. I've been present in like-minded conversations in my community, but I wasn't ready to listen, hear, and apply those ideas. Now that I am ready, I'm looking forward to reading Tom's book from cover to cover. I also ordered Will Richardson's Blog book and can't wait to absorb that info!
